Video: Deion Sanders Suggests Shedeur Could Be the Giants’ No. 1 Pick in the 2025 NFL Draft

Deion Sanders appears to have inside information regarding the New York Giants’ strategy for the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.
In a recent appearance on The Pacman Jones Show, Coach Prime confidently stated that the Giants will not trade the No. 1 overall pick if they secure it and expects that his son, Shedeur Sanders, will be selected with that pick.

The Giants may not have their current head coach or general manager by the time the draft arrives, making it questionable that Sanders could know their plans if they land the No. 1 pick.
Another challenge is that the Giants might not even secure the top draft pick if they end the season poorly. They are currently tied with the Las Vegas Raiders for the worst record in the NFL, but the Raiders are poised to snag the top pick based on opponent strength of schedule.
As the regular season wraps up over the next three weeks, any number of outcomes could change the standings. The Raiders face odds against being favored in their remaining games, yet their Week 16 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars is perceived as winnable.
The Giants’ next game features the Atlanta Falcons, marking the first NFL start for Michael Penix Jr. They will also contend with the unpredictable Indianapolis Colts in Week 17, followed by a season finale against the Philadelphia Eagles, who may rest key players if their playoff position is secured.
Regardless of whether the Raiders or Giants secure the No. 1 pick, it seems improbable that either team would consider trading it. Both organizations are in desperate need of a quarterback to inspire hope for their future.
The next critical step for either team will be identifying the top quarterback available in the draft. Shedeur Sanders and Cam Ward are often viewed as the premier signal-callers in the class, with B/R’s NFL scouting department ranking the Miami standout slightly ahead of Sanders in its latest big board.
While Sanders is the more prominent name, Cam Ward performed better in the 2024 Heisman voting, throwing an FBS-high 36 touchdown passes this season.
