AFC Updates: Riley Moss, Broncos, Chargers, and Raiders
Broncos
Broncos DB Riley Moss has shared his thoughts on making a comeback from his knee injury following the team’s recent loss to the Bengals.
“Obviously, like today, sometimes you eat a sh** sandwich and you’ve got to own it,’’ Moss stated after the game. He reflected on the defeat, as reported by Mike Klis. “This isn’t the first time it’s happened in my career, and it’s probably not going to be the last. The great players have the grit to push through, and that’s what I’m going to do. I know that’s what everyone on this team will do too.”
Moss anticipated that the Bengals would target him throughout the game, especially as he plays opposite star CB Patrick Surtain, widely recognized as one of the best in the league.
“I expect that every game,’’ Moss remarked. “My standard is to make plays, and while I didn’t do that a couple of times, I own up to it. I’ll take the consequences, but I won’t let this get me down because we still have more football to play. There’s no pressure on us; we should approach it as if we have nothing to lose and play with the freedom we had during our winning streak. I’m excited. We have a great group of players to handle adversity. This one stings, especially after all the effort we put in this season, but looking at the bright side, we’ve got another chance next week, and we need to be prepared to roll.”
Chargers
- According to Adam Schefter, Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh is set to receive a $1 million playoff bonus after the team secured a playoff spot last week.
Raiders
- Raiders TE Brock Bowers has shattered Mike Ditka‘s long-standing NFL rookie record for receiving yards by a tight end (1,088) during Sunday’s game, a record that has stood for 63 years. (Albert Breer)
- Bowers is now one of only eight tight ends in NFL history to achieve 105 receptions in a single season, also breaking the rookie record previously held by Rams WR Puka Nacua.
