As we approach Week 17 of the NFL season, the New York Giants seemed poised to secure the No. 1 overall pick for the 2025 draft—but that scenario has shifted.
Currently, four NFL teams are tied with the worst record at 3-13, placing the Giants projected to draft at No. 4 based on tiebreakers. If the season concluded today, the New England Patriots would claim the top pick.
With one week still to play, anything can transpire. The Titans and Browns are also vying for the coveted No. 1 selection alongside the Patriots and Giants.
As the NFL regular season winds down, we present an updated first-round mock draft, with the projected order sourced from Tankathon.com. Additionally, we’ll delve into some underrated prospects who could be selected in the latter half of the first round.

The NFL draft’s first round typically doesn’t feature many tight ends, but Tyler Warren of Penn State is an exception worth watching in the 2025 class. He’s been exceptional during his senior season, recording 92 receptions for 1,095 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games.
Having elevated his performance during his fifth year, Warren could further improve his stats as the Nittany Lions are still in the running for the College Football Playoff.
Warren’s skill set appears well-suited for the NFL, making him an exciting prospect. A team like the Denver Broncos, with their young quarterback Bo Nix, could be an ideal fit.
Wherever he lands, expect Warren to make an impact as a dynamic playmaker at the tight end position.

Shavon Revel Jr. was on track for an impressive senior season at East Carolina, having secured a couple of interceptions in the first three games. Unfortunately, he suffered a torn ACL during practice, which cut his season short.
Despite the setback, Revel’s potential keeps him in conversations for a first-round selection thanks to his strong fundamentals. In just 24 games at ECU, he showcased significant talent.
If he remains available late in the first round, the Buffalo Bills could be an advantageous destination, offering him a chance to bolster their secondary while slowly reintegrating him into play.
If Revel slips further in the draft, he’ll present a bargain opportunity for whichever team takes a chance on him, contingent upon his rehabilitation progress.
Mike Green, EDGE, Marshall

It’s been two decades since a Marshall player was selected in the first round of the NFL draft, last marked by quarterback Byron Leftwich in 2003. However, that streak may soon come to a close with EDGE prospect Mike Green.
This redshirt sophomore has truly shone this season, racking up 17 sacks in just 13 games, alongside 84 tackles and three forced fumbles.
While facing competition in the Sun Belt Conference might raise questions, Green’s accomplishments highlight his potential to thrive at the professional level, making him a compelling first-round draft candidate.
If Green lasts into the later first round, he could find himself with a promising team eager to harness his talents and enable him to make an immediate impact.
