Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers is reportedly drawing interest from several other schools even before the conclusion of his 2024 season with the Longhorns.
According to On3’s Pete Nakos, Ewers has received a staggering $6 million offer to enter the NCAA transfer portal instead of declaring for the NFL draft this spring.
As noted by Nakos, “multiple Power Four schools” are actively pursuing Ewers to get him into the transfer portal ahead of his last year of college eligibility.

Currently, Ewers and the Longhorns are focusing on their upcoming Peach Bowl showdown against Arizona State. The winner will advance to face either Oregon or Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinals.
Nakos’ report comes as Ewers’ opportunities as QB1 in Austin may be dwindling.
Arch Manning has stated he does not plan to enter the transfer portal during this offseason. After two seasons as Ewers’ backup, he’s positioning himself for the starting role in 2025.
Additionally, Ewers may opt to enter the NFL draft, where demand for quarterbacks is expected to outstrip the number of top-tier prospects.
When questioned about his future prospects leading up to the playoff, Ewers expressed, “I’m not sure yet” regarding his plans.
“I’m just trying to win these games. I haven’t thought about anything beyond that,” Ewers stated on December 16, as reported by Eric Henry of Horns247.
Ewers’ position on draft boards could greatly depend on how far he can lead Texas in the first expanded College Football Playoff.
In his recent performance, Ewers completed 17 of 24 passes for 202 yards and one touchdown while also throwing an interception due to a dropped pass, guiding Texas to a 38-24 victory over Clemson in the first round.
Despite struggling with red-zone efficiency throughout his third season as a starting quarterback, a strong performance against ASU could enhance Ewers’ draft stock and influence how much other college programs are willing to invest in keeping him in the NCAA.
