The Dallas Cowboys have officially signed defensive lineman Earnest Brown IV from the practice squad of the Buccaneers to their active roster.

This move fills the roster spot left open after the release of running back Ezekiel Elliott earlier yesterday.

At 25 years old, Brown was selected in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams out of Northwestern. He initially signed a four-year contract worth $3.75 million but was waived by the Rams after his first year.

Since his departure from Los Angeles, Brown has transitioned between practice squads and active rosters, most recently having spent time with the Buccaneers after being waived by the Rams again in January.

In the 2023 season, Brown participated in seven games for the Rams, accumulating five total tackles.
