Travis Hunter Jokes About Looking for Homes Before Titans Landed No. 1 NFL Draft Pick
Reigning Heisman Trophy winner and two-way football star Travis Hunter joked on his podcast about looking for homes in relation to which NFL team was in position for the No. 1 draft pick as the regular season wound down (conversation begins at 13:10).
“Every time the No. 1 pick change, my Zillow research change,” Hunter remarked.
Two weeks ago, the New York Giants were in position for the No. 1 pick, but their 45-33 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Dec. 29 knocked them out of that spot. Then the New England Patriots entered last Sunday needing a loss to the Buffalo Bills to secure the No. 1 pick, but they beat a team of backups, 23-16.
In the end, the Tennessee Titans “won” the No. 1 pick by virtue of their 23-14 loss to the Houston Texans to finish the season.
The Titans could very well be selecting a new quarterback in this year’s draft. Will Levis, the team’s 2023 second-rounder and QB1 for most of the year, was benched late in the season for backup Mason Rudolph. He also had five more turnovers (18) than touchdowns (13).
In fact, the latest B/R NFL mock draft has the Titans selecting Hunter’s Colorado teammate, quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Hunter lands third in that one to the New York Giants. Miami quarterback Cam Ward went second to the Cleveland Browns.
So perhaps Hunter should be setting his Zillow app to homes in North Jersey, although the Giants should be in the market for a quarterback as well after parting ways with Daniel Jones.
Ultimately, it’s a guessing game as to where Hunter goes right now, but he won’t be waiting long at all to hear his name called when Round 1 begins on April 24 in Green Bay.
