Bills Elevate Two Players for Week 16, Including Safety Kareem Jackson
The Buffalo Bills have officially elevated wide receiver Jalen Virgil and safety Kareem Jackson from their practice squad to the active roster for Week 16.
At 36 years old, Jackson is a seasoned veteran. He was originally drafted in the first round by the Houston Texans in 2010. After completing his four-year, $34 million contract, he signed a three-year, $33 million deal with the Denver Broncos in 2019.
Although Denver declined Jackson’s option for the 2021 season, they brought him back on a one-year, $5 million deal after he explored free agency. In 2023, he returned on another one-year contract but faced challenges, including a suspension for tackling violations, ultimately leading to his midseason release.
Following his release, Jackson was claimed by the Texans, where he finished the season before joining the Buffalo Bills in July 2024. He was waived at the end of training camp but re-signed to the practice squad thereafter.
So far in the 2024 season, Jackson has appeared in one game for the Bills, making three total tackles.
