Dolphins Conduct Tryouts for Four Offensive Linemen
As reported by Aaron Wilson, the Miami Dolphins recently conducted workouts for four offensive linemen, including the experienced OT Cameron Erving.
The complete list of players included in the workout consists of:
- G Gunner Britton
- OT Cameron Erving
- OT Alex Leatherwood
- OT Lucas Niang
Cameron Erving, 32, was originally selected in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns after playing college football at Florida State. Subsequently, he was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017 for a fifth-round pick in the 2018 draft.
While with the Chiefs, they opted not to exercise his fifth-year option. Erving was in the final year of a four-year, $9.429 million rookie contract when he signed a two-year extension in 2018, potentially worth up to $15.7 million.
After being released by the Chiefs in 2020, Erving spent some time with the Dallas Cowboys before securing a two-year, $10 million contract with the Carolina Panthers as an unrestricted free agent in 2021.
Unfortunately, the Panthers released him just before the 2023 regular season. He spent time on both the active roster and practice squad with the New Orleans Saints, and later signed with the Houston Texans in August this year, but was cut the following month.
During the 2023 season, Erving played in three games, starting in two, with the Saints.
