Jevon Holland Talks Potential Contract Extension with Dolphins
As reported by Barry Jackson, the Miami Dolphins are in discussions with S Jevon Holland‘s agent regarding a potential contract extension.
Jackson emphasizes that the Dolphins will need to create additional cap space to make a deal feasible, especially given that Holland might attract significant interest in free agency.
Currently, Miami has approximately $4.796 million in cap space for the upcoming season. This situation requires the team to either restructure contracts or release several players to accommodate Holland’s return.
Holland, just 24 years old, was a standout two-year starter at Oregon before opting out of the 2020 season. The Dolphins selected him with the 36th overall pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
He is now in the final year of a four-year deal worth $8,716,409, which includes a signing bonus of $3,699,207. Holland is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025.
In the 2024 season, Holland has played 14 games for the Dolphins, tallying 55 tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, three pass defenses, and one forced fumble.
