Yannick Ngakoue, a 29-year-old former third-round selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2016 from the University of Maryland, recently concluded the final year of his four-year, $3.48 million contract. After the Jaguars franchise-tagged him, Ngakoue entered into a contract dispute, refusing to play for the team, which ultimately led to his trade to the Minnesota Vikings.

Following a brief stint with the Vikings, Ngakoue was traded to the Baltimore Ravens during the same season. In 2021, he signed a two-year, $26 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders, but was traded to the Indianapolis Colts after one year in exchange for cornerback Rock Ya-Sin.

Last August, Ngakoue signed a one-year, $10.5 million deal with the Chicago Bears but returned to the Ravens in September, joining their active roster by October. After his time with Baltimore, he was put on waivers in November before being claimed by New England.

During the 2024 season, Ngakoue has participated in five games with the Ravens and an additional six games with the Patriots, tallying 14 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
