Jets Execute Four Transactions, Acquire LB Jamin Davis via Waivers
The New York Jets executed several roster adjustments on Monday as they prepare for their season finale this weekend.
The complete list of roster moves includes:
Linebacker Jamin Davis, a 25-year-old former first-round pick of the Commanders in 2021 from Kentucky, was in the final year of his four-year rookie contract. After Washington declined his fifth-year option in April, he was waived by the team. Davis then joined the Packers’ practice squad in late October 2024 before being signed to the Vikings’ active roster, only to be waived last week. In his 2024 campaign, Davis appeared in five games for the Commanders, accumulating 13 total tackles.
Defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis, 26, was another noteworthy addition, originally selected as a second-round pick by the Commanders out of Alabama in the 2022 NFL Draft. Mathis was playing under a four-year, $7.5 million rookie deal with a base salary of $1,046,199 for 2024 when Washington waived him in December. During the 2024 season, Mathis participated in 12 games, recording 17 total tackles along with a pass defended.
