As noted by ESPN’s Jake Asman, Ryan is expected to discuss the head coaching opportunity with the Jets after the conclusion of the season.

Rex Ryan, aged 62, launched his coaching journey in 1987 at Eastern Kentucky, moving through several teaching positions before joining the Baltimore Ravens as their defensive line coach in 1999.

He eventually rose to assistant head coach and defensive coordinator before being named the Jets’ head coach in 2009. After a six-year stint, Ryan was let go and quickly appointed as the head coach of the Buffalo Bills.

After two seasons with the Bills, Ryan was dismissed in 2016 and has since served as an analyst for ESPN.

Throughout his career, Ryan’s teams have recorded a total of 61 wins and 66 losses (48 percent), alongside making two playoff appearances and reaching the AFC Championship game twice.
