The Cincinnati Bengals have made a significant roster move, promoting Isaiah Thomas, defensive end, from the practice squad to the active roster.

In a related decision, the Bengals have waived quarterback Logan Woodside.

Isaiah Thomas, 25, was drafted in the seventh round by the Cleveland Browns out of Oklahoma in 2022. He signed a four-year rookie contract worth $3.8 million, valid through 2025.

After being waived following training camp in 2023, Thomas rejoined the Browns’ practice squad shortly thereafter. He then signed a futures contract after the season, only to be released once again after the 2024 training camp. His journey has included practice squad stints with the Bengals and Lions.

During the 2024 season, Thomas appeared in two games for the Lions, compiling three tackles and recovering a fumble.

Logan Woodside, 29, previously a seventh-round pick by the Bengals in 2018, originally signed a four-year contract totaling $2,529,996, which included a signing bonus of $69,996. He was waived as the Bengals trimmed their roster to 53 players.

Woodside had a fluctuating tenure on the Titans’ practice squad, returning to Tennessee in 2019. He faced roster cuts, but was brought back and added to the practice squad before signing a futures deal in January 2020.

In 2022, Woodside returned on an exclusive rights contract but was cut post-camp. He rejoined the practice squad only to be signed by the Falcons later that year.

Following the end of his contract with Atlanta, Woodside signed with the Bengals in April 2024 but was again released after training camp, ultimately re-signing to the practice squad.

Throughout his NFL career, Woodside has played in 13 games, achieving four completions on seven attempts, totaling 34 yards, with no touchdowns and one interception.
