Bengals

  • Bengals WR Tee Higgins commented on QB Joe Burrow’s impressive touchdown pass: “Forget the Batmobile. That motherf***er’s flying now. He’s Superman.” (Jay Morrison)
  • Bengals HC Zac Taylor praised Burrow following the victory over the Browns: “He’s the ultimate weapon. He really is the best in the business.” (Paul Dehner Jr.)

Browns

Rumors swirled that Jets owner Woody Johnson opted against trading for Browns WR Jerry Jeudy during his time with the Broncos due to concerns over Jeudy’s Madden rating.

After being traded to Cleveland and subsequently signing an extension, Jeudy dismissed the reports as absurd: “To be honest, I don’t believe it. I think that’s fake news,” he stated via Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan. “For real, why would somebody look at Madden ratings? Be real. I don’t think that’s real, but it is funny.”

“I’m glad that I’m here,” Jeudy continued. “I’m glad my Madden rating was low. Yeah, it got me here. I feel like I belong. I’ve been working my tail off this whole off-season, and now it’s finally showing. It’s time to take advantage of every opportunity moving forward.”

  • Browns DE Myles Garrett became the first player in NFL history to record 100 sacks before turning 29, achieving this in just 115 games.
  • Garrett on whether he received any internal feedback regarding his comments on not wanting to be part of a rebuilding franchise: “Those are conversations that will be had after the season. There’s nothing I said that anybody was unaware of.” (Zac Jackson)
  • When asked about the Browns’ contention status, Garrett replied: “I don’t know. That’s what the conversations are for.” (Jackson)
  • Stefanski commented on the team’s loss to the Bengals amidst multiple turnovers: “Obviously you turn the ball over, especially in the red zone… not gonna put yourself in position to win, especially on the road.” (Jackson)
  • Stefanski confirmed that QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson will remain the starter: “if he’s healthy, and he should be”, despite dealing with a calf injury. (Jackson)

Steelers

Steelers QB Russell Wilson expressed disappointment over his second-quarter fumble and interception in Week 15. “It’s unacceptable,” Wilson shared with Brooke Pryor of ESPN. “It can’t happen. There were two negative plays, and while I felt I was seeing the field well, those mistakes were significant.”

The veteran QB emphasized the need for a quick turnaround before the team’s game on Wednesday in Week 17: “We play on Wednesday. I don’t think there’s enough time to sulk or fear. We can’t let a tough game take us into a negative state because there’s so much more at stake.”
