Additionally, the Browns have promoted WR James Proche from their practice squad and added DT Michael Dwumfour to the practice squad.
At 33 years old, Harris is a former seventh-round pick from the Raiders in the 2014 NFL Draft. During his early career, he spent time on and off their practice squad before re-signing with the Raiders on a one-year exclusive rights deal.
After being waived by the Raiders post-2016 draft, Harris had brief stints with the Jets and Cowboys. He later signed a futures deal with the Broncos for the 2017 season and returned to Denver on a one-year deal in 2020, which was worth up to $3.25 million. In 2021, he signed a three-year, $27 million deal.
In 2022, Harris was traded to the Seahawks as part of the Russell Wilson deal. After being released by Seattle, he joined the Browns on a one-year deal worth $5.25 million in 2023 and subsequently re-signed with the team during the past offseason.
During the 2024 season, Harris participated in 14 games for the Browns, totaling 37 tackles, five tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one forced fumble, and two pass deflections.
