As reported by Tom Withers, the Cleveland Browns have announced that Bailey Zappe will be their starting quarterback for Week 18 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Cleveland’s head coach, Kevin Stefanski, mentioned earlier today that both Zappe and fellow quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson will see playing time during Week 18, as reported by Withers.

Bailey Zappe, 25, was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft after an impressive career at Western Kentucky. He initially signed a four-year, $4.3 million contract with New England.

After struggling to find a permanent spot, Zappe was waived by New England following the preseason but quickly joined their practice squad. He was later promoted back to the active roster. Following a rough training camp, the Patriots released him, and Zappe ended up on the Kansas City Chiefs’ practice squad.

In October, Cleveland signed Zappe from Kansas City’s practice squad but waived him in December, only to re-sign him to the active roster shortly thereafter.

During the 2023 season, Zappe made 10 appearances for the Patriots, starting in six games. He completed 59.9% of his passes, amassing 1,272 yards, six touchdown passes, and nine interceptions.
