Colts

  • Stephen Holder reports, citing a team source, that the Colts are “optimistic” about Anthony Richardson (foot) playing in Week 17, highlighting his consistent progress throughout the week.
  • Holder notes that Friday’s practice will be “critical” for determining Richardson’s availability.

Jaguars

Despite losing their left tackle, Walker Little, for the remainder of the season, the Jaguars successfully secured his contract extension for the future.

Yeah, I was surprised, just like you said, getting it done during the season. I expected if I was going to get an extension, it would probably be after the season,” Little stated, via Sports Illustrated. “When they reached out during the bye week, I definitely wasn’t expecting it, but it was a nice surprise. We started discussing it, and I’m glad we got it done before the Texans game.

Texans

The Texans faced a tough loss against the Ravens, with a score of 31-2 on Christmas Day. Head Coach DeMeco Ryans expressed the need to assess the situation internally after such a one-sided game.

“We’ll take the next couple of days to review everything, starting with myself,” Ryans commented, as reported by Drew Dougherty from the team’s site. “It all begins with me. As a team, we need to come together and figure out how to play better football.”

Wide receiver John Metchie emphasized the importance of collective effort, insisting the team must work harder to finish the season on a positive note.

“We should all be dedicated to our work,” Metchie said. “This isn’t the time to relax. The season isn’t over yet; we should be focused on improvement, whether it’s getting healthy or enhancing our skills.”

Ryans urged the team and coaching staff to “check themselves” and evaluate their contributions.

“I told everyone to self-assess,” Ryans concluded. “From coaches to players, reflect on whether you’re doing enough. We need to return with renewed energy and demonstrate that this isn’t who we really are, as that performance doesn’t represent our true capabilities.”
