AFC Insights: Tank Dell, Mason Rudolph, Colts, Texans, and Titans Updates
Colts
Texans
As reported by KPRC’s Aaron Wilson, Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a devastating injury, tearing his ACL, MCL, and LCL, along with damaging his meniscus, after dislocating his knee on Saturday. This injury is expected to necessitate multiple surgeries for Dell to repair his knee, with his prospects of playing in 2025 currently deemed extremely unlikely.
Dr. David Chao, a former NFL team physician and injury analyst, has described this injury as potentially career-threatening for Dell.
“This is a significantly more challenging recovery process than just an ACL injury. It’s a knee dislocation with three or four major ligaments affected, and thus, rehabilitation will be extensive,” stated Chao. “Unfortunately, we have to consider this a career-threatening injury; however, we all hope it won’t be career-ending…”
“A typical recovery timetable would ideally allow him to participate by next season, but there are no guarantees he will play at all. This situation is reminiscent of Browns running back Nick Chubb, as both suffered knee dislocations. However, not all knee dislocations are alike; the complexity of this injury entails multiple surgeries and extensive rehabilitation. As devastating as this injury is, we can hope for a positive outcome similar to Nick Chubb’s return last season.”

Titans
Titans quarterback Mason Rudolph threw a critical interception late in the first half during Week 16’s defeat against the Colts. Head Coach Brian Callahan noted that turnovers in pivotal situations have been the “Achilles heel” of their season.
“We can’t afford turnovers in crucial moments,” said Callahan, as reported by Turron Davenport of ESPN. “That’s been our recurring issue throughout the season, especially in critical moments that shift game momentum.”
Both Rudolph and Will Levis have identical touchdown-to-interception ratios and average the same yards per completion, although Callahan feels the statistics “don’t completely represent” either quarterback’s performance.
“Our goal is to maximize our chances of winning, and to identify which player gives us the best opportunity,” emphasized Callahan. “The statistics can be misleading, and don’t always tell the full story.”
Despite the Titans holding a 3-12 record, Callahan believes they have made strides this season.
“I wish we had more tangible results from our efforts this year,” he admitted. “It’s a results-driven league, and we must demonstrate progress in these last two weeks.”
