Titans Bring Kicker Matthew Wright Back to Practice Squad
The Tennessee Titans have officially re-signed kicker Matthew Wright to their practice squad.
This past weekend, Wright served as an injury replacement for the team, successfully making all of his attempts during the game.
At 28 years old, Wright went undrafted out of the University of Central Florida (UCF) in 2019. His journey began with signing a rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, although he was waived shortly after training camp.
After signing a futures contract with the Detroit Lions, he was released by the team and subsequently joined the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. He was later promoted to the active roster with Jacksonville.
Wright’s career has seen him play for several teams, including the Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, and Atlanta Falcons before making his way to the New England Patriots. He returned to the Panthers briefly to replace injured kicker Eddy Pineiro.
This season, he has had multiple stints with the Steelers, 49ers, and Chiefs.
In 2024, Wright has participated in four games for the 49ers, Chiefs, and Titans, converting 13 out of 14 field goal attempts and successfully kicking all six extra points.
