Chargers Activate RB J.K. Dobbins Off Injured Reserve
As reported by Tom Pelissero, the Los Angeles Chargers are set to activate running back J.K. Dobbins from injured reserve this Friday.
Pelissero indicates that Dobbins will be back just in time for Saturday’s matchup against the New England Patriots.
Having missed the last four weeks due to an MCL sprain—a result of a knee injury sustained during a run—Dobbins is poised to make a significant impact upon his return.
Prior to his injury, Dobbins was performing exceptionally well, making his return a critical asset for the Chargers’ offensive efforts as they aim for a playoff appearance. He was designated to return earlier this week.
At just 25 years old, Dobbins was selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft out of Ohio State by the Baltimore Ravens. He recently completed the final year of a four-year, $5,729,436 rookie contract, which included a signing bonus of $1,726,862.
This marks a notable moment in Dobbins’ career as he tested the market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time, ultimately signing a one-year deal with the Chargers.
During the 2024 season, Dobbins has played in 11 games for the Chargers, recording 158 rushing attempts for 766 yards (averaging 4.8 yards per carry) and scoring eight touchdowns. Additionally, he has completed 28 receptions on 34 targets for a total of 134 receiving yards.
