Eddie Jackson, 30, was originally a fourth-round selection by the Chicago Bears in 2017, coming out of Alabama. He had entered the final year of his four-year, $3.067 million contract when he signed a four-year extension worth $58.4 million with the Bears.
Initially scheduled to earn a base salary of $14 million in 2024, Jackson was released earlier this year in February. He later signed with Baltimore Ravens in July 2024 but was subsequently waived.
Just days ago, he joined the Chargers practice squad, and now he makes his move to the active roster.
During the 2024 season, Jackson appeared in nine games for the Ravens, accumulating a total of 30 tackles and one pass defended.
