Cowboys Declare WR CeeDee Lamb Out for Remainder of Season
The Dallas Cowboys have officially announced that wide receiver CeeDee Lamb will miss the remainder of the season, as reported by Mike Garafolo.
Lamb has been managing a significant shoulder injury throughout the season, but with the Cowboys now out of playoff contention, it was deemed unnecessary for him to keep playing through the pain.
Fortunately, Lamb is not expected to require surgery for his sprained shoulder. This will give him ample time to recover and prepare for offseason training activities (OTAs).
The 25-year-old receiver was a standout player at the University of Oklahoma, where he earned consensus All-American honors. The Cowboys selected him with the 17th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.
Lamb’s rookie contract was worth $14,010,012 over four years, including a signing bonus of $7,749,100. Additionally, the Cowboys exercised the fifth-year option for the 2024 season, valued at $17.991 million, which is fully guaranteed.
Set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025, Lamb secured a lucrative four-year, $136 million extension at the beginning of this season.
During the 2024 season, Lamb played in 15 games, recording 101 receptions on 152 targets for a total of 1,159 receiving yards and six touchdowns.
