Lions Make Two Roster Moves, Add LB Kwon Alexander to Practice Squad
The Detroit Lions have officially announced the addition of linebacker Kwon Alexander to their practice squad, alongside the signing of defensive back Morice Norris to the active roster.
Kwon Alexander, 30, was drafted in the fourth round by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2015. He completed the final year of his initial four-year, $2.76 million contract before signing a lucrative four-year deal worth $54 million with the San Francisco 49ers in 2019.
In midseason 2020, he was traded to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for linebacker Kiko Alonso and a conditional fifth-round draft pick. Unfortunately, Alexander tore his Achilles late that season, subsequently leading to his release.
Following a brief return to the Saints on a one-year deal, Alexander joined the New York Jets for the 2022 season. He then signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers in July 2023 before joining Denver’s practice squad in September 2024. Recently, the Lions secured his services.
So far in 2024, Alexander has participated in three games for the Broncos and two for the Lions, accumulating a total of 12 tackles, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
