The Minnesota Vikings have officially added defensive end Jonathan Harris to their practice squad, according to the latest NFL transaction wire.

In a corresponding decision, the Vikings have released cornerback Kelvin Joseph.

Harris, who is 28 years old, began his professional career as an undrafted free agent with the Chicago Bears after coming out of Lindenwood in 2019. Initially, he was cut during Chicago’s final roster cuts but secured a spot on their practice squad after going unclaimed through waivers.

Over time, Harris was elevated to the Bears’ active roster. However, he was waived and subsequently claimed by the Denver Broncos in October 2019, where he had a fluctuating presence on the practice squad before achieving an active roster promotion in November 2022.

After a brief spell with the Miami Dolphins, where he did not take the field, Harris joined the Carolina Panthers. However, his time with Carolina ended when he was waived in December.

In 2024, Harris played in seven games for the Panthers, amassing 10 tackles and one fumble recovery.

Kelvin Joseph, aged 25, was drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Dallas Cowboys after a successful college career at Kentucky. At the time of his release, he was in the third year of a four-year contract valued at $7,781,160, which included a $3,019,026 signing bonus. After being traded to the Miami Dolphins, he was eventually waived and quickly signed onto the Seattle Seahawks’ practice squad.

Joseph spent the remainder of that year in Seattle and later secured a futures contract with the Kansas City Chiefs for the 2024 season. However, after being released following the preseason, he had short stints on the practice squads of both the Colts and Vikings.

This season, Joseph has participated in two games with the Colts, where he recorded one tackle.
