In response, the Falcons have signed linebacker Josh Woods to the active roster. Additionally, Atlanta utilized standard practice squad elevations for cornerback Lamar Jackson and offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. ahead of their Week 17 matchup against the Commanders.

Antonio Hamilton, 31, originally joined the NFL as an undrafted free agent from South Carolina State, signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Raiders in 2016. He successfully made the 53-man roster in his first two seasons with the Raiders.

After being waived at the beginning of the 2018 season, Hamilton was claimed by the Giants and re-signed to a one-year contract in 2019. He then proceeded to sign with the Chiefs in 2020, before joining the Cardinals prior to the 2021 season.

During his time in Arizona, Hamilton spent the first three weeks on the practice squad but was elevated to the active roster for several games. He later re-signed with the Cardinals on two consecutive one-year deals before testing free agency and ultimately signing with Atlanta for one year at $1.4 million.

So far in 2024, Hamilton has participated in 11 games for the Falcons and has recorded seven tackles.
