The Carolina Panthers have officially waived defensive lineman Jonathan Harris as of Monday to make room on their roster.

At 28 years old, Harris began his career as an undrafted free agent, signing with the Chicago Bears in 2019 after a collegiate career at Lindenwood University. He initially faced challenges, being cut from the Bears’ final roster and subsequently added to their practice squad after going unclaimed through waivers.

His trajectory improved when he was elevated to the Bears’ active roster, only to be waived and claimed by the Denver Broncos in October of 2019. Harris had multiple stints on and off the Broncos’ practice squad before finally being promoted in November 2022.

His journey continued with a short time at the Miami Dolphins, where he did not play in any games, setting the stage for his eventual arrival with the Panthers.

Throughout the 2024 season, Jonathan Harris appeared in seven games for the Panthers, accumulating a total of 10 tackles and one fumble recovery.
