Cardinals Make Three Roster Moves, Activate LB Markus Bailey
The Arizona Cardinals made significant roster moves on Monday by activating linebacker Markus Bailey, who was under a six-game suspension due to a violation of the NFL’s performance-enhancing substance policy.
The Cardinals also added linebacker Vi Jones off waivers from the Buccaneers. Notably, Jones is the brother of current Cardinals wide receiver Zay Jones.
In addition, cornerback Joey Blount has been placed on injured reserve.
Markus Bailey, 27, was selected by the Bengals in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft after playing college football at Purdue. He recently completed the final year of a four-year, $3.4 million rookie contract with Cincinnati.
This past offseason, Bailey explored his options as an unrestricted free agent. He eventually re-signed with Arizona in May, although he was released after the preseason and then rejoined the practice squad.
During the 2023 season, Markus Bailey participated in all 17 games for the Cardinals and recorded a total of 10 tackles.
