Cardinals Place RB Trey Benson on Injured Reserve and Make Additional Moves
The Arizona Cardinals have officially placed third-round running back Trey Benson on injured reserve.
In addition to this move, the team has promoted offensive lineman Nick Leverett and signed running back Hassan Hall to their practice squad.
Benson, who is 22 years old, transferred to Florida State after two seasons at Oregon. He earned Second-team All-ACC honors in both 2022 and 2023.
The Cardinals selected him with the No. 66 overall pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. He subsequently signed a four-year contract worth $6,059,606, which includes a signing bonus of $1,226,984 and carries a cap figure of $1,101,746 for the 2024 season.
During the 2024 season, Benson participated in 13 games, recording 63 rushing attempts for 291 yards (averaging 4.6 yards per carry) and one touchdown, alongside six receptions on six targets for 59 yards.
