Cardinals Unveil Two Roster Changes Ahead of Week 16
The Arizona Cardinals have officially elevated veteran running back Michael Carter to their active roster for Week 16.
In addition, the Cardinals have also elevated offensive tackle Jackson Barton to their active roster, joining offensive tackle Paris Johnson Jr.
Michael Carter, at 25 years old, was a standout four-year starter at North Carolina, earning third-team All-American honors and first-team All-ACC recognition in 2020. He was selected by the New York Jets in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft with the 107th overall pick.
As part of his rookie contract, Carter signed a four-year deal worth $4,287,366 million, including an $807,366 million signing bonus. After three years with the Jets, he was waived and subsequently claimed by the Cardinals, having earlier been among Arizona’s final roster cuts before rejoining their practice squad.
So far in 2023, Carter has played nine games for the Jets and six for the Cardinals, amassing 30 carries for 187 yards and no touchdowns. He has also demonstrated his receiving ability, catching 24 passes on 31 targets for 101 yards and one touchdown.
