@AlbertBreerGeorgia QB Carson Beck announces on IG he’s declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft. He didn’t have as good a year in 2024 as he did in 2023, and he’ll be coming back from the same sort of UCL surgery that Brock Purdy underwent.

During his time at Georgia, Beck played four seasons, beginning in 2022. He concluded his collegiate career with an impressive 58 touchdown passes (20 interceptions) and a completion rate of 68.0%, amassing 7,912 yards (averaging 8.6 yards per attempt).
Under Beck’s leadership, the Bulldogs achieved a 13-1 record in 2023, celebrating an Orange Bowl victory. In 2024, his starting record was 11-2, culminating in a SEC Championship win and earning a No. 2 seed in the College Football Playoff.
Unfortunately, Beck encountered a UCL injury to his right elbow during the SEC Championship Game while throwing a Hail Mary pass at the end of the first half in UGA’s narrow 22-19 victory against Texas on December 8. He was officially ruled out for the season on December 23, but is anticipated to begin throwing by spring and make a full recovery.

According to the latest B/R NFL Scouting Department big board dated November 22, Beck is ranked 44th overall among prospects and fourth among quarterbacks, trailing behind Miami’s Cam Ward, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.
B/R NFL scout Dame Parson rated Beck with a second-round grade, comparing his playing style to Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff but with “more mobility/athleticism.”
Parson remarked that “Carson Beck is a talented pocket-passing quarterback with sufficient mobility to move beyond typical pocket-bound comparisons. When he is able to throw confidently with timing and rhythm, defenses will struggle to contain him. His processing skills and football IQ are commendable. He is ideally suited for a team with a strong supporting roster and rushing game, minimizing the pressure to single-handedly drive the offense. With his overall skill set, he could be a long-term starter in the NFL.”
Although Beck had one more year of eligibility after redshirting in the 2021 season, his decision to go pro now allows him to seize the opportunity to potentially be selected in the first round.
