Carson Beck’s NFL Draft Grade Before CFB Transfer Portal Decision Revealed in Report

Quarterback Carson Beck’s decision to enter the transfer portal after initially declaring for the 2025 NFL draft was influenced by comments he received during the draft process, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel and Max Olson.

The former Georgia passer suffered a UCL injury to his right elbow that is expected to prevent him from throwing until March, clouding his draft outlook.

The signal-caller announced his decision to enter the draft on Dec. 28, but Pete Nakos of On3 reported on Thursday that he’ll enter his name into the portal.

His overall body of work with Georgia still would have generated draft attention, as he was ranked as the No. 3 quarterback and No. 37 overall player on the latest big board from Bleacher Report’s NFL Scouting Department.

Concerns surrounding Beck’s injury and subsequent surgery appear to have made his exact draft range unclear, though.
