Travis Hunter, the 2024 Heisman Trophy winner, has made an indelible mark on the University of Colorado, both on the field and beyond.
In a recent episode of Zero 2 Sixty, Buffaloes videographer Deion Sanders Jr. disclosed that Hunter does not receive any funds from the program’s NIL collective; instead, he actively contributes to it.
“He possesses undeniable character. He doesn’t receive NIL from the collective, and ironically, he’s one of the largest donors, ensuring other players’ NILs are funded,” Sanders stated at the 18:45 mark.
Sanders revealed that Hunter is financing NIL deals for “at least 10 to 15 players” this season.
According to On3.com, Hunter’s NIL valuation stands at $5.2 million, ranking him second in all of college sports, just behind his teammate Shedeur Sanders, whose NIL valuation is $6.2 million. Hunter’s notable NIL partnerships include big names like Adidas, United Airlines, 7-Eleven, and Celsius.
Aside from his commendable contributions to the NIL collective, Hunter is preparing to join his teammates for one final game in the Valero Alamo Bowl against BYU on December 28. Despite his Heisman Trophy win and being a potential No. 1 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, he remains committed to representing Colorado one last time.
“This is paramount for me; I started this journey with Coach Prime, Shedeur, and the majority of our coaching staff,” Hunter reflected on his decision last week. “I feel like I owe it to them after not being able to deliver a full season in my first year. I want to conclude this properly, showing my loyalty and commitment to our team during this final game,” he added.
Such a mindset is sure to endear Hunter to fans as he transitions into his upcoming NFL career.
