Troy Aikman, the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback, recently shared his insights on Shedeur Sanders, believing he’s poised to follow in his father’s illustrious footsteps in the NFL.

“I do think he’s a franchise quarterback,” Aikman remarked while speaking to TMZ Sports about the talented Colorado quarterback. “I love his game. I’ve been watching him closely for years and I know his father very well. What Shedeur has accomplished is nothing short of remarkable.”

Aikman further asserted that he believes Sanders is “going to have a hell of a career” in the NFL.

Aikman and Deion Sanders shared the field as teammates on the Cowboys for five seasons from 1995 to 1999, celebrating a Super Bowl victory together in the 1995 season—marking Aikman’s third Lombardi Trophy and Sanders’ second.

Currently, Deion Sanders serves as the head coach for the Colorado Buffaloes, who showed impressive growth from a 4-8 record in his first season to a 9-3 record in his second, largely due to his son’s performance as the quarterback.

Shedeur Sanders boasted an impressive season, completing 74.2 percent of his passes for 3,926 yards, throwing 35 touchdowns against just 8 interceptions, and ending up eighth in the Heisman Trophy voting. His teammate, Travis Hunter, captured the award following an outstanding dual performance as both a wide receiver and cornerback.

As both Sanders players aim for the next level, B/R’s NFL Scouting Department has ranked Shedeur as the No. 9 overall player and the No. 2 quarterback, only behind Miami’s Cam Ward, in their latest draft board.

Sanders is also recognized as the most accurate passer and the most pro-ready quarterback among upcoming NFL prospects.

It may not be long before Aikman is commentating on Sanders’ games from the booth, as he clearly holds high hopes for the young quarterback’s future.
