Lions Release Kwon Alexander – NBC Sports
The Detroit Lions have officially waived veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander, as announced by the team on Thursday. There is a possibility of his return to the practice squad if he successfully clears waivers.
Alexander joined the Lions’ roster on November 29, signing off the Denver Broncos’ practice squad to fill the gap left by Malcolm Rodriguez, who suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
During his short time with the Lions, Alexander participated in two games, earning a starting position against both the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills. He recorded a total of four tackles over 29 defensive snaps while donning the Detroit uniform.
Prior to his stint with the Lions, Alexander played in three games for the Broncos this season, where he made eight tackles.
At 30 years old, Alexander boasts an impressive career with 109 game appearances, 92 of which were as a starter. His career statistics include a total of 643 tackles, 13.5 sacks, nine interceptions, and 13 forced fumbles.
